Get to know the Real J.O.

Reach Magazine TV co-host Jeffrey Osbourne, better known as J.O., opens up about his goals, fears, hobbies and life as a father.J.O. in Soulful Commandoe

Q: What lessons have you learned from fatherhood?

A: Patience, I know sometimes we ask GOD to give us patience, but he doesn’t always. He always puts us in a situation where you have to be patient. I’ve learned everyone has different levels of learning. Instead of getting mad at my son, I have to get to the root of why my son is crying.

Q: Is there anything you fear? If so, have you faced your fear and how did you overcome it?

A: Yes, I fear a lot. My biggest fear is that I won’t live up to being the man of God that I’m supposed to be. I fear that I may step out of my calling. I still overcome it everyday because I have to realize I already have been equipped with it. I’m where I need to be and the only person that can take me out of my situation is myself. When I get complacent is when the fear becomes reality. So I’ve got to keep moving and keep trying for my best.

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: I am 22-year-old senior citizen (laughs). I like to mountain bike, I recently picked up rock climbing. I like fishing and spending time with my family. Hanging out with my son and teaching him how to play basketball and you know– enjoying life. Oh, I skateboard too and snowboard. I’m a jack of all trades.

A: Man, I would describe my fashion sense as chameleon-like because I’ve learned to be versatile. Fashion is not a brand, it’s what you make it.  Rock penny loafers with camouflage shorts and butterfly collars – that’s what makes you! My fashion speaks…what my mind is speaking. By the way, I will never wear bell bottoms.

Q: What’s one thing you want to, but haven’t tried?

A: Whitewater kayaking.

Q: Not only the co-host of Reach Magazine TV, you are also the producer of a new TV show: PUSH. What made you move into more behind the scenes role? How does it feel to be in this position?

A: What made me want to get involved is the opportunity to do what I love while making a living. Being behind the scenes is refreshing because sometimes you just want to be the silent voice.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with Reach and Push? Are those different goals?

A: Actually they go hand in hand. I really just want the shows to be used and available to those in need, both these shows depict fun and positivity (a lot like my personality). Ultimately, it allows me to show my heart’s desire –to see others succeed.
